Sony 350

Often whenever photographers get together, they inevitably get around to asking what kind of gear (equipment) do they have and what did they use to make that photograph. We easily get lost in buying the most advanced or most expensive equipment based upon what the other guy has. After all I like his pictures so I guess I have to have the same equipment he has to do a comparable job. How many nature photographers go out and buy 11×14 or 8×10 view camera like Ansel Adams used? We don’t, at least most of us. We’re of a new breed, the digital breed. Even film buffs are embracing the quickness of the digital world.

Konica Minolta 5d

We don’t need the best camera…we need a better eye, better lighting, better composition to make a better photograph. So to that end even though I was partially raised by a professional photographer who loved his Leica’s and Hasselblad, I can’t afford those.

Seven years ago I bought my Sony A77 and it has been a wonderful camera but I have sold it and purchased the Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mark II. Why? because my Sony and its lens assortment are heavy. So to ease some of the weight I carried around over the years my micro 4/3 Olympus equipment is very light. With 7 stops of image stabilization built into the body of the camera it operates amazingly steady. I loved in body stabilization in my Sony and it continues in my OMD. My primary backup is a Sony A350 although I have had it converted to Infrared only.  if you’re still itching to know what I use, here’s a list. My equipment:
